DCE Finals 2018

Zaterdag 29 2018, tijd voor de Drum Corps Europe championships. Met 18 deelnemers uit 6 verschillende landen, legde ik dit muzikale spektakel fotografisch vast voor Drum Corps World.

Ondanks een koude start van de dag, werd het een mooie zonnige dag (en dat is een stuk beter dan vorig jaar met al die regen). Tijdens de shows kon ik zien hoe de leden van de korpsen genoten van hun hobby en ze hun best deden om hun beste show van het seizoen neer te zetten. Het maakte niet uit of ze nu meedingen naar de prijzen of niet. Ieder korps liet zijn beste show zien en het plezier was duidelijk zichtbaar.

Net als elke contest die ik fotografeer komen niet alle foto’s in het magazine van Drum Corps World. Maar dat neemt niet weg dat men deze foto’s niet krijgt te zien. Hieronder een selectie foto’s van alle deelnemende korpsen. En er volgen vast nog wel wat foto’s in een album op Facebook.

Dit jaar was er ook een schrijver van DCW uit Amerika overgekomen om een verslag te schrijven. Fijn om weer kennis te maken met één van de stafleden van DCW. Een paar jaar geleden was Steve Vickers er zelf met 2 fotografen. Het is fijn om ook gewoon even persoonlijk met deze mensen te kunnen praten i.p.v. alleen maar via de mail contact te hebben.
